Janice is an Author with a rich history in the Arts, she is a former Artstic Director; Talent Agent; Theatre Manager and Performer. As a student in Swansea, she formed a theatre company, writing, directing, performing and touring many productions throughout Wales. Janice accumulated a wealth of managerial, business, and performing experience from working at Swansea Grand Theatre and The Grand Pavilion Porthcawl.
Over the past twenty years Janice was the Artistic Director of the Theatre Company, Catch 22 Productions. Janice is the talent manager for her partner Cornelius Carr, and in 2018 established a boutique talent agency, Smith Artist Management, with former ‘The Bill’ actor, Brandon McConnell.
Janice wrote the book ‘Warrior in Wellington Boots’ during the Covid lockdowns, receiving great acclaim and praise for its writing. She’s now writing her second book ‘Flower of Gower’ about generations of Welsh women who fought against stigma, racism, oppression, misogyny and the class system. The story is based on family members and incredulous tales which have been passed on to each generation. Her next book will be published in 2025.
Janice is passionate about the film project 'Cornelius' and believes it will be an iconic award-winning British film. She says. 'I believe that as a production team we have the talents and authenticity to produce a hugely successful film. We possess all the magical ingredients to wow, educate, and inspire audiences throughout the world. The film 'Cornelius' will be an everlasting cinematographic tribute to a poor little working-class boy who overcame life's obstacles with dignity and courage to make a name for himself on the world stage.'
